Sinopec Baling Branch is the first Shell pulverized coal gasification ammonia production unit with an annual output of 500,000 tons of synthetic ammonia built in my country. In order to avoid the problem of methanogenic side reactions, the unit is designed to adopt a high water/gas process in the conversion section. The main problems after the unit is put into operation are: a. The pre-conversion furnace catalyst deactivates quickly and the operation is unstable; b. The steam consumption is high; c. The CO index at the outlet of the low-conversion furnace does not meet the design index of less than 0.4%. In order to save energy and reduce consumption and achieve safe, stable, long-term, full and excellent production of the unit, it was decided to use a low water/gas conversion process. The transformation plan was jointly formulated by Qingdao Lianxin Chemical Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Ningbo Design Institute. The first conversion furnace uses Qingdao Lianxin Chemical Co., Ltd.'s QDB-05 low water/gas conversion catalyst). After the transformation, it was successfully started on June 27, 2010, saving more than 30 tons of steam. The annual economic benefits are more than 40 million yuan.
