Sinochem News: Recently, the second shift furnace of Shuifu Yuntianhua's 26-ton methanol unit has adopted the new QDB-07 sulfur-resistant shift catalyst developed by Qingdao Lianxin, and the content of mercaptan sulfide at the outlet has been reduced from 28mg/m³ to 11mg/m³, solving the problem of mercaptan sulfide formation in the shift section of high CO content and high sulfur feed gas.
Shuifu Yuntianhua's 26-ton methanol unit uses Shell pulverized coal gasification and low water-gas ratio sulfur-resistant shift process. The raw gas has high CO content and high sulfide content, and the water-gas ratio is 0.2~0.3. During the operation of the unit, a certain amount of organic sulfur compounds (mercaptan sulfide) were detected at the outlet of the shift furnace, which had a significant impact on the normal operation of the methanol synthesis process.
In response to the problem of increased organic sulfur content at the outlet of the shift furnace, Qingdao Lianxin has developed a new QDB-07 sulfur-resistant shift catalyst suitable for high sulfur conditions based on the original QDB-04 catalyst, which can more effectively inhibit the formation of organic sulfur. In April 2021, Shuifu Yuntian Company replaced the second conversion furnace as a whole. Compared with before the replacement, the mercaptan sulfide content at the outlet of the second conversion furnace was reduced from 28mg/m³ to 11mg/m³ after the replacement, and the mercaptan sulfide conversion rate reached 61%, which effectively solved the problem of mercaptan sulfide generation in the conversion section of high CO content and high sulfur raw gas.

The successful development of QDB-07 catalyst has solved the key technical problems of the application of high-sulfur coal in energy-saving conversion processes, ensured the implementation of new energy-saving processes, broadened the selection range of raw coal and reduced the procurement cost of raw coal, and played a good demonstration effect for the promotion and application of high-sulfur coal.
